Our Board Of Directors
The Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors includes members of the community, physician leaders, and members of the business community dedicated to the mission of the Daughters of Charity Health System and the Vincentian Values.
The Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors steward the mission and vision of the Foundation, and help to bring community involvement into our ongoing work.

Deacon John H. Norris, Chair
John first joined the Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors in July 2005 and currently serves as the Chair of the Board. John is a graduate of the US Air Force Academy and counts more than 36 years of executive-level experience in banking, insurance and information technology. John currently serves as the Director of Pastoral Ministries and as Director of the Office of Child and Youth Protection for the Archdiocese of San Francisco. His civic involvement beyond Seton Medical Center includes having served on the Board for the International Catholic Stewardship Council and as a Deacon for St. Vincent de Paul parish in Petaluma (Diocese of Santa Rosa).

Sr. William Eileen Dunn, DC
Sister William Dunn is a Member of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul religious community, and has been part of the Daughters of Charity health care ministry for over 45 years in various roles of Nursing Management and Goverance. She serves as a member of the Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors, and as the Vice President for Mission Integration for Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside. She received her BSN from Marillac College in St. Louis, and her Nursing Diploma from Mary’s Help Hospital in San Francisco. In addition to her service at Seton Medical Center and with the Foundation, she also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for St. Francis Medical Center in Lynnwood, California and the Board of Directors of Villa Siena in Mountain View.

John J. Fannon
John Fannon first joined the Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors in October 1999 and currently serves as its Secretary. He received his BA at the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and completed an Executive Program at Stanford. He retired from Simpson Paper Company having served as its President. John’s civic activities beyond Seton Medical Center include serving on the Hillsborough City Council.

Sr. Margaret Ann Gainey, DC
Sister Margaret Ann Gainey first joined the Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors in January 2006. Sister Margaret Ann serves as the Archivist for the Seton Provincialate, Daughters of Charity. She received her BA from Marillac College, and two MAs from the University of San Francisco and Santa Clara University. Her current professional and civic involvement beyond the Foundation includes the Society of American Archivists.

Thomas B. Hazlehurst, MD
Dr.Hazelhurst joined the Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors in 2005. Dr. Hazlehurst has practiced medicine at Seton Medical Center for over 25 years with a specialty in internal medicine and pulmonary diseases. Currently, Dr. Hazlehurst is the Medical Director of the nationally-recognized pulmonary rehabilitation program and medical director of the long-term care 4th floor sub-acute unit. Dr. Hazlehurst formerly served on the advisory board for Mt. St. Joseph's/St. Elizabeth Center, aka The Epiphany Center, and the Board of Directors of the Daughters of Charity Health System.

John D. McHugh II, Vice-Chair
Jack first joined the Seton Medical Center Board of Directors in February 2006 and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board. Jack completed his undergraduate and graduate education at the American International College of Business and has worked as an independent Financial Consultant for over 30 years. His civic involvement beyond Seton Medical Center includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Johnston Foundation and a Board of Director member emeritus of the Boys and Girls Club. He also serves on the Finance Committee of Senior Coastsiders and has been active in the American Diabetes Assn. He lives in Half Moon Bay for the past 27 years with his wife, Charise.

Jay Narayan, PhD
Dr. Jay Narayan first joined the Board of Directors for Seton Medical Center Foundation in March 2007. Dr. Jay retired from Seton Medical Center, having served as the Director of Clinical Laboratory, Pathology, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Oncology. His educational background includes a BA in Biology, a MA in Management and Supervision in Healthcare, A MS in Clinical Science, and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies. Dr. Jay’s current and past civic involvement beyond the Foundation includes serving as a Board member for the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA), and past local chapter president for the California Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists (CAMLT). Dr. Jay is a founding member of National Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultant (NAHAC). Dr. Narayan is nominated to be a Board Member for Sirs branch 142 here in San Mateo. He currently writes articles on health issues, which has distribution of up to 190 members per month.

Michael Pacelli
Mike first joined the Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors in December 2005. Mike is a graduate of the University of Santa Clara and currently serves as a land use and government relations consultant in San Mateo County. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Northern California. In addition to Mike's participation on the Seton Medical Center Foundation Board, he is a member of the Doelger Senior Center Foundation Board, Sustainable San Mateo County Board, and the Pacifica Advisory Board for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. He is a past board member of Samaritian House, the San Mateo Community College Foundation, and past president of the South San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.

Colman Ryan, MD
Dr. Ryan first joined the Seton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors in 1988. Dr. Ryan is a Physician with a specialty in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is the co-founder of the San Francisco Heart and Vascular Institute and was appointed its Executive Director in 1992, a position he currently holds. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, a Specialist in Clinical Hypertension with the American Society of Hypertension, and serves as the Physician Director of the CCU and 6th Floor Telemetry Units at Seton Medical Center. His current and past civic involvement beyond the Foundation includes serving on the boards of directors for Seton Medical Center, the San Francisco Heart Institute Foundation, and Catholic Healthcare West Bay Region.
